Acini di Pepe (Pastina)
In 2022, several large pasta manufacturers (read: Big Pasta) announced they were going to stop making the beloved Pastina, and people everywhere freaked out. Not us, I mean, we could make this anytime we wanted. But at that point, we figured we’d help all of YOU out by having something that was only becoming harder to find. Whether you remember eating this as a kid with butter and parm when you were pretending to be sick (or in broth when you really were), or you Nonna slipped some into a soup or stew to stretch it for those unexpected but welcome guests… these are not to be forgotten or deleted from your home. Yes, Pastina is a category of pasta technically (which includes orzo and fregola and stelline), but if someone says “hey, pick me up a box of pastina, will ya?”, this Acine di Pepe is what they mean. Literal translation: Seeds of Pepper, and you’re gonna have a spicy momma on your hands if you don’t grab some!
Dried Pastas can be stored for up to 12 months from manufacture.
Ingredients: Organic Semolina Flour.
